But the Cameroonian is undaunted by the challenge and said he doesn’t expect this to be a one-off event when asked if he will return to the boxing ring after Saturday’s bout.

“Absolutely. I really intend to win this fight and to have a rematch,” Ngannou told TNT Sports.

“Everything is possible, I don’t doubt myself,” he added.

“When I go for something, I go full throttle, I don’t go back. I invest everything into what I believe in, and this is one of those cases.”

The 37-year-old, who left the UFC in January before signing a multi-fight deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL), explained where he thinks he has the best chance of victory.

“Most likely in knockout, because I know that it’s going to be a tough fight for me if it goes to decision,” said Ngannou.

“But I still have my chances. We have trained enough to give me a chance to win this fight, even if it goes to decision. But I’ll most likely win this fight by knockout.”

The self-styled ‘Gypsy King’ also hinted that he intends to stand in the middle of the ring to meet Ngannou head on, but the UFC great doesn’t believe that will be the case.

“I think he’s not that foolish to just stand there and trade, he’s never fought anybody like that,” Ngannou said.

“Unless he gets his opponent wounded, he won’t stand there and trade, he will always be moving. I saw he has lost some weight, so I think he plans to move a lot in the 24-foot ring.”

The pre-fight barbs have been relatively calm despite Fury’s comments, and Ngannou explained why he hasn’t been drawn into any big fighting talk.
