Argyle meet Bolton Wanderers this Saturday at Home Park, looking to continue their 100% record at the Theatre of Greens this season in Sky Bet League One.
After beating Barnsley 1-0 and Peterborough United 2-0, The Pilgrims face a Bolton side managed by Ian Evatt, who have eight points from five games this season, one point fewer than Argyle.
The Trotters began with a 1-1 draw away to Ipswich, before winning 3-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers. A second away draw followed – 0-0 at Port Vale – before another home win and another clean sheet as they won 1-0
against Morecambe. Bolton’s first defeat of the season came last week, at the University of Bolton Stadium, as they lost 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday.
In the Carabao Cup, Bolton won 5-1 against Salford City, but lost 4-1 on Tuesday night in the second round against Aston Villa, although Wanderers did take the lead in that game through Dion Charles.
Striker Charles and his fellow forwards are yet to score for Wanderers in the league this season, but midfielders Kyle Dempsey and Aaron Morley both have two each in the league,
with wing-back Conor Bradley having scored one in the league and one in the cup. All have scored more goals than they did last season.
Bradley, 19, is on loan from Liverpool, and is already a Northern Ireland international. Fellow wing-back Jack Iredale is a fellow summer arrival, having signed permanently from Cambridge United. Goalkeeper James Trafford has returned for a second season on loan from Manchester City.

There are two former Pilgrims in the Bolton squad. Centre-back Will Aimson played 53 games over two seasons as a Pilgrim from 2019-21, while right-back Gethin Jones was signed on loan by John Sheridan at the tail-end of the 2014/15 season, playing seven times.
Last season, Argyle won both games between the sides, memorably winning 3-0 at home in a torrential downpour, with early goals from Brendan Galloway
and Conor Grant added to by a comical last third by Ryan Broom, through the Home Park puddles. In the away game, Argyle won 1-0 thanks to a Macaulay Gillesphey goal.
