Jon Dadi Bodvarsson believes Bolton Wanderers need to take a couple of aspects from promoted Rotherham United to help them challenge for promotion in the upcoming season.
The Millers were promoted to the Championship last season as runners-up to Wigan Athletic. Bodvarsson was able to view Paul Warne’s side in League One more closely after joining Wanderers in the January transfer window from Millwall.
And the Iceland international believes Wanderers need to adopt a couple of the qualities the Millers possess, such as their work rate, disciplined defending and their streetwise
nature in matches. The striker believes Wanderers could have a promotion-winning formula if they combine that with what they already have in their game.
Wanderers finished ninth in the 2021/22 League One campaign, which was a good achievement for a newly promoted side. In the upcoming season, Wanderers are fully focused on challenging for promotion from the off and are targeting a place in the top six and beyond.
Ian Evatt’s side finished 10 points from the top six and will be aiming to close that gap to the summit of the division. Wanderers’ season begins on July 30 with a trip to Portman Road to take on Ipswich Town.
