Preston North End have their second pre-season clash this evening as they take on St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park.
The Scottish outfit are under the management of ex-PNE favourite Callum Davidson and impressively won two cup competitions last season.
The Lilywhites come into the friendly on the back of their 8-3 win against Bamber Bridge on Saturday, with Frankie McAvoy’s squad stepping up their summer preparations.
PNE arrived at their St Andrew’s camp on Sunday and face Celtic this weekend, before heading back down to England for matches against Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Manchester United.
This evening may well be the first time new signings Izzy Brown and Matthew Olosunde pull on a North End shirt, after the pair missed the Brig fixture at Euxton.
Preston North End will face Manchester United at the end of July for their final match of pre-season.
The Red Devils will make the short trip to Deepdale for the clash, which will take place on Saturday, 31 July at 2pm.
It is the only friendly at North End’s home ground this summer, with the Premier League side having been in search of an extra date in their calendar.
United called off a trip to Malta amid the Covid restrictions and will now take on PNE as part of their tune up for the Premier League campaign.
There were reports that PNE were set to take on Manchester City at their academy stadium, but the United fixture is the only one to be confirmed so far.
