As mentioned above, Tuesday’s hosts Blackpool will be in high spirits heading into this match, after winning their first league game since returning to the Championship.
After being promoted from League One via the playoffs in 2020-21, it appeared as though Blackpool could be heading straight back to the third tier without a fight prior to Saturday’s win.
In the five league matches that preceded, the Seasiders had only managed to pick up two points, which included defeats in both of their home games without scoring a goal.
However, unexpectedly defeating promotion-favourites Fulham 1-0 on home soil will have given the squad, as well as the feeling around the whole club, a huge lift ahead of the next few fixtures.
As expected, Blackpool saw very little of the ball against possession-hungry Fulham but were clinical enough to take one of their very few chances created when Josh Bowler netted the only goal of the game early in the second half.
Meanwhile, visitors Huddersfield were defeated 2-1 away at Stoke City in the return to club action at the weekend after the international break.
The Terriers struggled to get going and were far from their best against quality opposition, which as a result saw them lose their first away game of the new season.

However, after taking the lead early in the second half through Harry Toffolo, manager Carlos Corberan will have been disappointed that his side could not take at least a point from the match, and especially unhappy with conceding the equaliser just three minutes after scoring the opener.
That defeat put an end to Huddersfield’s impressive three-game winning streak, which included a 4-0 hammering of Reading prior to the break, and an outstanding 2-1 victory away to promotion-hopefuls Sheffield United.
Corberan will now be hoping his side can rediscover the form of that winning run on Tuesday, against a side that they have not met since 2015
